Kids' Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Crew
Description
Kids' Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Crew
The Smartwool Kids' Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Crew is crafted from 100% responsibly sourced Merino wool, making it an ideal cold-weather base layer for active kids who spend time on the slopes, hiking trails, or playing outdoors in winter conditions. Merino wool is a naturally high-performance fiber that regulates body temperature, wicking moisture away from the skin while retaining warmth even when damp — keeping kids comfortable through changing activity levels and weather conditions.
Designed with a classic crew neck and set-in long sleeves, this base layer fits snugly under mid and outer layers without bunching, making it a versatile foundation for any layering system. The flatlock seam construction minimizes raised seams against the skin, helping to prevent irritation and chafing during extended wear — an important feature for younger, more sensitive skin during high-output winter activities.
Beyond temperature regulation, Merino wool offers natural odor resistance thanks to its inherent antimicrobial properties, meaning this base layer stays fresher longer across multiple wears. It's a practical choice for multi-day ski trips or back-to-back outdoor adventures where laundry access may be limited.
