The Mountain Hardwear Women's Stretchdown™ Jacket redefines what a down insulation layer can do. Using an innovative construction technique, pockets of premium goose down are woven directly into a single stretch fabric, eliminating the bulk and restricted movement typically associated with traditional down jackets. The result is a mid-layer that moves with your body whether you're reaching for a handhold on a rock face or pushing through a steep alpine approach.
At the heart of this jacket is a 20D Durable Stretch Doubleweave fabric—available in solid and heathered compositions—engineered to deliver exceptional stretch and long-term durability. The solids blend 87% Nylon with 13% Elastane, while heathers combine 65% Nylon, 26% Polyester, and 9% Elastane. Both options provide a four-way stretch performance shell that resists abrasion through demanding backcountry conditions.
Insulation comes in the form of 700-fill RDS®-certified down, certified by Control Union (License Number: CU 848416) against strict animal welfare requirements and tracked from source to final product. With 2.7 oz of down insulation and an overall jacket weight of approximately 13.9 oz, warmth-to-weight efficiency is exceptional, making this jacket equally at home as a standalone mid-layer or compressed beneath a waterproof shell on summit days.
Thoughtful design details make the Stretchdown™ Jacket as functional as it is technical. A two-way center front zipper allows ventilation control on the move, while elastic cuff binding and dual drawcord hem adjustment lock in warmth when temperatures drop. Versatile pocketing—including a zip chest pocket with media port, two zipper hand pockets, and an internal drop pocket—keeps essential gear organized and accessible throughout any winter activity, from hiking and camping to travel and multi-pitch climbing.
